Vintage Carved Shell Cameo Gold Filled Rebecca at the Well

Vintage brooch featuring a very nicely carved shell cameo portraying "Rebecca at the Well". Brooch is 1 7/8" x 1 1/4" (4.8 cm, 3.3 cm) The octagonal shaped frame appears to be a gold fill and there is a twisted rope detail around the bezel setting. There is a safety clasp which looks as if it may be a newer addition although pin stem and hinge appear original to the cameo. Over all, cameo is in good vintage condition. The frame has minor discoloration on the back. Although cameo has no obvious cracks or damage, there is a fine stress line in the cameo which can be seen when held up to light, although does not appear to go through to either front or back, and cameo is smooth to the finger on both front and back where this line is seen. Not visible when cameo is worn. There is also a signature inscribed very lightly in the back although this is also hard to see. Please email with any questions.
