Franciscan Apple was produced from 1940-1980s and was very popular as the dinnerware pattern, but also as an attractive display in a hutch or shelving. It looked especially nice against maple or dark woods.
This covered veggie or serving bowl would have been one of the feature pieces in that display, as well as the center of the dining table. It measures 10" handle to handle x 5" tall with the lid in place. The lid is 7 1/3" wide at the rim. I find no damage.
This set was purchased at an estate sale and most of the pieces I have listed are early Franciscan...made and hand-decorated in the U.S.A.
I have many other Franciscan Apple pieces listed and will be happy to combine for shipping. Remember, I do not tack on any handling fees; you pay actual shipping. Many of these Apple items will be shipped via FedEx to save on shipping/insurance fees. This is one of those items, so it will be marked as "freight - large item". Don't panic. The piece will run around 5# and shipping via FedEx will be cheaper at that weight.
