Many homes used to look forward to receiving these desk calendars from area businesses in appreciation for their patronage. My parents had them in every room, it seemed. All of a sudden, businesses quit giving them out.

This metal desk calendar was distributed by the Whitney Monument Works of Fairfield, Iowa and still has the unused 1971 calendar attached to the back, as well as a working thermometer and lovely picture covered with glass. It measures 7 1/8" x 5 1/8" and is in wonderful condition.
