Signed Ferrand bronze statue INDISCRETE by Tiffany

This is a fabulous antique bronze statue by the French sculptor Ernest Justin Ferrand. Entitled 'INDISCRETE', the piece depicts a housemaid peaking at her master's mail while leaning on a console table. Ferrand was often focused on common people of the time. Impressed "Tiffany & Co." and " Society des bronzes des Paris". Overall height of the piece is approximately 26.5 inches in height. The piece is in excellent condition and has developed a beautiful patina over time. Circa 1900. Ernest Justin Ferrand was born 1846 and died in 1932. Several examples of Ferrand's work can be seen in Berman's books. The casting of this bronze is superb. The details of the face, hands, body and her gown are very life like. Note the attached cross hanging from her necklace around her neck. Also, the flowing gown draped off and below the plinth. Exceptional.
