Metal Swinging Spirits Teapot Coffee Pot and Holder with Warmer
This antique white metal teapot sets in its own cradle.
Bakelite black handle and knob on the teapot. Victorian and Edwardian ca. called a spirits teapot because of the burner holding alcohol (spirits) for burning and keeping the water hot. The host could carry the pot from room to room without calling for the servants.
The teapot has little knobs on each side to set in the fancy
sides of the cradle.
The entire teapot sets on a round plate that has a burner under it to keep the tea hot. The burner has a cover to close when through with the tea. I am not sure what type of liquid was used for the heating unit, but it does look like a bunson burner. In very good condition, with just he usual wear from a nice old antique piece. The teapot measures 6 1/2 inches high with the whole unit measuring 12 inches high. Very nice to set on a vintage buffet.
