Gold Plated over Sterling Demitasse Set Porcelain Cup Inserts
They are of superior quality and were made by Fisher Silversmiths of Jersey City, New Jersey sometime in the 1950's. Rose Bouquet is the pattern.
Cup holders feature 5 large bouquets of roses in relief going around the holder with a never ending band of tiny roses and foliage near the upper rim. Both tops and bottoms have rolled edges. These are very high quality pieces.
Saucers feature repousse edges in the same rose pattern that is on the cup holders. They are a bit larger in size, though.
All gold plated pieces are marked Sterling. The saucers have the Fisher mark and logo and pattern name.
These silver pieces weigh about 4 ounces all together. They are not flimsy, but of a good weight.
There is some minor surface wear that you can see in the photos as well as spots where sterling is seen peeking thru. But almost all of the gilt is there and it is shiny and bright. You can see silver mostly at the upper rims and handles of the holders.
The saucers show no silver, just plenty of brilliant gold View the pictures, as they show these pieces pretty well as they are. And they are even brighter and more beautiful than shown in the photos. Understand that the photos were taken in a macro mode and are seen extremely close up. When looked at with the naked eye, you really notice their beauty.
Cup liners are very fine porcelain made by Hutschenreuther. One cup is marked Gelb LHS Germany, while the other is Marked Gelb Bavaria US Zone.
They are each trimmed in 22K Gold and are in superb condition.
