Weiss Two Birds on Branch Rhinestone Japanned Brooch

Weiss Two Birds on a Branch Rhinestone Brooch

Black (japanned finish) brooch features two birds sitting on a branch singing their sweet song.

Each song bird's chest displays a large prong set oval faceted unfoiled rhinestone- (jelly belly?), also red in color. The true color of the red is red with just the slightest touch of an orangey tone, as opposed to a blue red tone. It has loads of fire and sparkle. It is red, however, and sometimes it appears even redder. There is no foil backing. You can see clear through.

Small red rhinestone chatons cover the wings.

Eyes are set with tiny bright brilliant green rhinestones. All rhinestones are bursting with color and are intact. Japanning work has been wonderfully done.

Weiss also made this brooch in gold tone and a variation of just one bird on a branch.

Measures 2 1/4 x 1 3/4".

Back is marked Weiss.

Pin works with great ease. To my naked eye, even very close up, these look absolutely perfect.

I am extremely fussy in my item description and I strive to be very accurate. Using magnification, I saw one infinitesimal very light surface scratch and a couple teeny, teeny, teeny, I mean so teeny that they are just about nonexistent flea bites on the edge of the large stone on the left. If you enlarge the photos, I doubt that you will be able to see these. Condition is very, very good. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. If you think my photos look good, these birds will knock your socks off if you could see them in person.
