This fabulous double stick for a flower or corsage, dates from the late 1800's and is in the form of a sword. The hilt and cross-guard are studded with opals and tipped with golden orbs. The triangular shaped scabbard is attached with a fine chain and is also enhanced with fabulous opals that glow in pastel colors. This piece is unsigned but tests as 12 karat gold, with the possibility that it is vermeil with a heavy gold plating. It was missing two of the twelve opals when we purchased it from a local estate, which we had replaced by a professional jeweller. It measures approximately 2 3/4" by 1 1/8", is in excellent condition and magnificent!
