Antique Double Sided Engraved Victorian Sterling Silver Locket

The photos don't do justice to this beautiful nineteenth century locket with its detailed engravings on both front and back. One one side, there is a fabulous floral pattern, and on the other, a shield with elaborate swirls and elegant accents. The engraved panels sit high of the angled reeded border and the finely beaded edge. This lovely locket is 1 5/8" long not including the bale, 1 1/4" across, and 3/8" deep. There is a single retainer rim on the inside and it is missing the glass. There is an applied star shaped pattern inside on both sides which we think was likely intended for reinforcement and may have been a later addition. There are no visible markings however the locket tests as sterling silver and weighs 12.3 grams. It is in excellent condition, has an attractive patina and is exquisite!
