Vintage White Enamel Canning Funnel with Blue Trim Graniteware Enamelware

This is a nice rare old canning funnel used in the days when canning your own fruits and vegetables was a way of life. I remember those hot fall days of standing over the stove with my mother and grandmother canning the tomatoes and green beans that we had gotten out of our garden. Those vegetables would feed our families through the long and cold Nebraska winters and we always felt so rich when we had a pantry full of canned produce.

This enamel canning funnel was used to top the canning jars. The vegetables would slide in without soiling the top of the glass canning jar which was so important in order to get the proper sealing of the canned produce. This funnel dates way way before my time. It is white with blue trim and it stands about 5" tall and 5" across the top.

A great primitive piece for your kitchenware collection.
