Modernist Studio Artist Brooch Pin Sterling Silver Rubellite Cabochon Stone

This is a great Modernist Studio Artist Brooch or Pin in Sterling Silver with a cone shape Rubellite Stone. The piece looks hand cut with a hand hammered narrow strip overlay. The pin has all the natural patina and I have not tried or wanted to clean the piece. The value lies in the patina. The rubellite stone is bezel set and forms a cone shape soft point. The clasp is nice and tight and it looks like the roll over clasp was repaired but more likely that is the way it was made I believe as the patination on the back and near the clasp is evenly distributed throughout. Rubellite is a form of tourmaline and when it is found in various shades of dark pink or red color, it is called rubellite. The brooch measures 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" wide, and weighs 9.2 grams.
