Victorian Brown Velvet Pile Type Hat Bonnet Pink Brown Plume Band Box Millinery

This is a Ladies 19thC Victorian Brown Velvet Pile Type Hat Bonnet with Light Shell Pink and chocolate Brown Ostrich Plume trim. The label reads Band Box/Distinctive Millinery/161-JA Ave, 147-28 JA Ave/ Jamaica N.Y. It is worn at the top of the head leaning towards the forehead I believe. This bonnet came out of a Long Island collection where it has been. The brown fabric resembles velvet but it is not. The fabric has a pile to it and more closely resembles closely sheared fur. But the fabric is woven and I do not know the name of it. The color is a dark chocolate brown with cinnamon highlights. Dark chocolate brown velveteen ribbon trims the top. The front of the hat has the pointed end. This hat does not look like it was ever worn and is in pristine condition A hat pin with a matching fabric end was placed in the hat long ago and now really cannot be removed. The hat is lined with a heavier black silk faille and black grosgrain. It is small to fit on the top of the head and measures 9" from the frontal point to the back and 7 1/2" across. Please ask questions if I have not included something in the description that is important for you to know. I am not sure which decade of the 19th century this hat is from. Perhaps you could tell me.
