Mammoth Antique English Partners Desk Inkwell by Betjemann's c.1880

A real stunner of an inkwell, this one has both quality and condition. This huge cut crystal circular inkwell has channels cut down the sides of this hefty piece of crystal, the base has a star-cut.

This inkwell would have sat in the centre of a Partners Desk and with the patented Betejamann's double action lid could be accessed from either side of the desk. This beautiful spherical lid is decorated with Ivy leaves and retains it's original gilded finish.

Quite wonderful and remaining in superb undamaged condition. The base measures 4 1/2" in diameter and stands 5 1/" tall. Victorian in era, c.1880.
