Stunning Antique English Sterling Silver Jewelry Box - 1901 - Cherubs

A really delightful late Victorian sterling silver box, a good solid example made from a good gauge of silver by the highly sought-after silversmith Deakin & Francis.

The lid is beautifully decorated with a repousse or embossed scene featuring three charming winged Cherub or Putti figures in a garden setting.

The lid fits well and once opened, reveals a lavishly gilded interior and the base lined in a cream silk.

The underside is where the full hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1901. Excellent condition, the lid having a diameter measuring 3" x 1 1/4" tall.
