Antique English Figural Brass Inkwell - Dog - French Bulldog, c.1880

This inkwell is a heavy piece, made from cast English brass, weighted with the original hefty lead seen from the underside.

Cast in the form of a dog's head, I am pretty certain it is made in the form of a French Bulldog with it's pointed ears.

The hinged lid is opened to reveal a removable glass liner for easy refilling and cleaning.

Excellent condition, with a polished finish; the base measures 3" in diameter, standing 3 7/8" tall.
