An absolute stunner of a tea service, all pieces having the most ornate and intricate engraved decoration, simply stunning!
The set is wonderfully clean with the milk jug and sugar bowl being lavishly gilded to the interior. All four pieces have a very decorative monogram to one side within the cartouche.
The two pots both have handsome rectangular finials on top and the handles with Ox bone insulator rings stopping heat radiating down the handle where it would be held during pouring.
All pieces are marked by the well renowned silversmith, Atkin Brothers and EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver. Each also has the English design registration number for the year 1888, a wonderful Victorian example, and very grand.
The condition is wonderful. The teapot measures 10 3/4" handle to spout x 6" tall to top of finial; The coffee pot measures 7 1/4" handle to spout x 8 3/4" tall; The sugar measures 7 3/4" x 4"; and the creamer measures 5 1/4" handle to spout x 4" tall to top of handle.
