A stunning top quality pair of large Peppers, created from a good gauge of sterling silver weighing a combined 5.49 Troy Ounces / 170.7 Grams.
The body is beautifully decorated with a repousse and engraved floral & foliate motif; each with a vacant cartouche.
They were made in London in the year 1891, true Victorian examples; both bases and tops are marked the same. The tops were made by silversmith, Charles Stuart Harris and the pots themselves by the top English silversmith, Elkington & Company.
I have two pairs of these, this sale being for one pair; please enquire if you are interested in all four.
Excellent condition, measuring 4 1/2" tall.
