A wonderful and rare English tea caddy, Georgian in era, dating to around 1800. The wonderful polished horn with a glossy patina is quite striking. What makes this one particularly special is the silver framed carved Cameo to the front.
This tented Octagonal design is one of the most sought-after shapes by advanced collectors. The interior is also quite wonderful with a horn lid, and a turned knob with a leather interior matching the red leather underside of the caddy.
Complete with a working key, it remains in excellent condition, measuring 4 1/2" x 3" x 5 1/2" tall to top of ring finial.
