A highly sought-after large spherical cut crystal bottle with wonderful all-over intricate cutting almost resembling a Scottish tartan or plaid.
The collar and hinged top are English sterling silver with a hallmark for Sheffield 1901, making this an early Edwardian example. The makers mark is also present, J.D & S for James Dixon & Son, know for quality wares.
Once the lid is opened the cut crystal stopper can be revealed and the interior of the lid, gilded. The top itself is decorated with a beautiful, flowing floral and foliate repousse design with a vacant cartouche on the crown where initials or another inscription could be engraved by your silversmith.
This exceptional bottle is sure to please in excellent condition and measuring and impressive 6 1/2" tall with a diameter measuring approximately 4 1/2".
