A real gem of an inkstand in solid or sterling silver standing on four lion's paw feet.
The rim of the base is beaded and the panels which really act as the handles are beautifully pierced or reticulated which in turn are engraved to add further decoration.
The cut crystal inkwell sits in a galleried receptacle with a lift off sterling lid.
All pieces of silver have matching hallmarks for London 1892, so a nice Victorian example. There is an ornate three letter monogram on the tray just in front of the inkwell ... all intertwined and hard to make out.
All in excellent condition, measuring 5 3/4" x 3 1/4"; the inkwell measuring 1 5/8" tall with a lid diameter of 1 3/8".
