Gorgeous Tortoise Shell and English Sterling Silver Lidded Vanity Jar
A really wonderful dressing table powder or vanity jar, pretty as as a picture with its intricate deep cut crystal base and crowned with a stunning piece of antique tortoiseshell with a wonderful glossy patina.

The shell is highly decorative with natural markings and colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown. To enhance this further the shell is decorated with silver pique work in a continuous acanthus leaf circle and finished with bows and ribbons, simply gorgeous.
The silver hallmark is on the side of the lid for Birmingham 1934.
Excellent condition and measuring 4 1/2" ind diameter at widest point x 2" tall.
