Orientalist subject matter German artist signed watercolor circa 1910

For the collector of watercolor art relating to the Orient, here is an interesting little work in watercolor and gouache, 8 3/8" x 11 3/4", signed authoritatively at lower left "Marquardt". There are several listings for this name but I am not sure that this is by one of those names. I would date this to the early 20th century, possibly end of the 19th, though. The subject is apparently old China or south central Asia, with figures wearing old time clothing and long braided hair. A figure in the background is pulling a rickshaw type cart. There is a camel at right center, bearing a load. All in all this is a very unusual piece of art. .
