Modernist cubistic signed still life painting fruit in a bowl on a table
Oil on canvasboard, 16" by 20" and 3" of frame and liner, circa 1950's or 1960's I believe, signed at lower left by artist "G. Diehl". At one time I thought this was a work by Finnish artist Gosta Diehl but now feel that this is an American work by simply a talented artist. The artist had an understanding of Cezanne's style Cubist still life works. There isn't a lot of depth and the scene seems to exist in two dimensions. This is ready for the wall.
