GEORG WILHELM STOOPENDAAL (1866-1953) Swedish art ink drawing early 20th century
Ink on paper of a simple cart with a figure drawn by a single horse, the sheet measuring 17 3/4" by 15 1/2" and narrow wood frame, signed at lower left center by artist GEORG WILHELM STOOPENDAAL (1866-1953) of Sweden. The artist shows firm command of the medium, with bold strokes of the pen. His works sell regularly at auctions in Scandinavian countries. Condition: there's old water staining at the bottom of the work, and old foxing at top, which can be largely though not totally hidden with a tightly cropped mat.
