PAIR of pastel drawings of hilly landscapes, each 5" by 7" (12 3/4" by 13 3/4" framed), both dated 1941, and both signed by listed American artist JAMES RALEIGH ABRAHAM (1909-). Abraham was apparently most closely associated with Indiana, having exhibited with the Hoosier Salon. He also studied in New York with Leon Kroll. During the 1930's he illustrated a number of books, possibly while working for the WPA. I thought I had seen somewhere that he was also working in North Carolina but I might be confusing him with someone else by a similar name. An online search has not turned up more information. Both drawings are in superb condition.
