Canadian art modernist 1953 landscape painting reminiscent of Group of Seven signed F. SULLIVAN

Oil on plywood painting 24" by 29" (" by " framed), signed at lower right "F. Sullivan '53", signed again on the reverse "F. Sullivan" and titled there "High Park Toronto". The painting of trees and a pool of water is created with palette knife especially in lower portion. I had thought this might be an early work by the well-known Canadian woman artist Francoise Sullivan (1925-), but checking with a major Canadian auction house showed that she did not visit Toronto until later, and never painted there. So, the work is offered on its own merits as a beautifully painted modern Canadian painting. The painting and frame are in excellent condition, and this is ready for the wall. The overall feel of the scene is very "Group of Seven" in its modernism. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates. SEE HUNDREDS OF OTHER WORKS NOW IN MY SHOP.
