Antique silver spoon mid 18th century London by English silversmith JOHN LAMPFERT

Silver stuffing spoon, 12 1/8" in length, the bowl 1 7/8" wide at the widest point, weight close to four ounces on a common postal scale, bearing the marks on the reverse of the noted mid eighteenth century London craftsman JOHN LAMPFERT, who was known to be working in silver from at least 1749. I am an art dealer, so, not experienced with silver, but from what I can gather, this is likely to be sterling .925, though I have not tested it. I believe that someone else did, the evidence of that a spot on the reverse side below the capital letter "M", near the handle. The marks are "JL", a lion or dragon, and so forth, the marks all meaning something to a silver specialist. The spoon and handle display unusually elegant proportions. See the net for more on the silversmith. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates. SEE HUNDREDS OF PAINTINGS, PRINTS AND DRAWINGS IN MY SHOP.
