Louisiana art large circa 1930 painting of Brulatour Courtyard in New Orleans French Quarter signed Swinney
Oil on canvas, 32" by 25" (plus large old apparently original frame) signed at lower left "J Swinney", the subject the famous courtyard, oft painted by many artists great and small over the decades. The painting seems to be circa 1930's or 1920's and is nicely done and of large size. There is a strong presence of old cigarette smoke so no doubt a lot of the browning is nicotine. There is a very old label on the reverse from Williams framing shop in New Orleans. There is some stretcher bar show-through and a small tear at lower left. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates.
