Scarce 1856 book "Narrative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan" by Commodore Matthew Perry

This is a scarce and collectable book in the field of 19th century travel and exploration, the abridged single volume edition of 1856, "Narrative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan". There was a multi-volume edition as well. I do see an errata slip so this particular copy must be from an earlier printing. The book does not appear to be a library book though on page 125 I see a pencil notation "Cal State Fullerton". The leather binding (book dimensions 9 7/8" by 7 1/4" by 2 1/2") seems to be all original and I believe that most if not all of the tissue-paper maps are present. All in all this copy seems to be in very original and presentable shape. There is an ancient browning stain of the pages in the 400's that goes through to a few other pages. The descriptions of closed and isolated mid 19th century Japan's geography, people and traditions make for one of the classic books of travel and exploration. MORE PHOTOS UPON REQUEST.
