GEORGE ELBERT BURR (1859-1939) Southwestern American artist fine etching of Arizona desert

**ONE OF FIVE WORKS I'M OFFERING OR SOON WILL BE OFFERING BY THE ARTIST (see also JB01264, JB02329, JB02331), this is an etching on paper print, 8 1/2" by 10 1/4" inside the mat (15 1/4" by 17" as framed), signed in pencil at lower left by noted western American artist GEORGE ELBERT BURR (1859-1939). At lower right is written the title of the work, "A Mirage--Ariz". Burr's etchings and watercolors of the Great Southwest, especially Arizona and Colorado, are eagerly sought after by collectors. This example, of Spanish Bayonet (yucca) and ocotillo and cholla cactus in a classic, arid southwestern landscape of distant buttes and mountains, is typical of his desirable Southwest desert images, which are among his most sought after etchings. Condition appears generally excellent, the paper not browned as is often seen, with the exception of a less than 1" diameter circular very light brownish stain in the sky (which appears more faint to the unaided eye than the photos might suggest). **ALLOW FOR REFLECTIONS IN THE IMAGES especially the dark looking area at upper left--just a reflection**. .
