**ONE OF FIVE WORKS I'M OFFERING OR SOON WILL BE OFFERING BY THE ARTIST (see also JB01264, JB02330, JB02331), this is an etching on paper print, 8 1/2" by 10 1/2" inside the mat (14 1/4" by 16 1/4" as framed), signed in pencil at lower left by noted western American artist GEORGE ELBERT BURR (1859-1939). At lower right is written the title of the work, "Whirlwinds Dead Mountains--Mojave Desert". Burr's etchings and watercolors of the Great Southwest, especially Arizona and Colorado, are eagerly sought after by collectors. This example, of dust devils in an arid southwestern landscape, is typical of his desirable Southwest desert images, which are among his most sought after etchings. Condition appears excellent save for the even browning, which is normal paper oxidation. A paper restorer could likely bleach this out and deacidify at the same time. **ALLOW FOR REFLECTIONS IN THE IMAGES, of railings and suggestions of darkened areas at upper left, which are just reflections.** .
