English watercolor street scene painting of old church and houses signed F. A. BOLTON
Watercolor on paper laid on board, 12 3/4" by 10" as framed, circa early 20th century, signed at lower right "F.A. Bolton". This appears to be a work by a listed artist, Francis A. Bolton. He could have been American; the listing is not detailed, but I see at least one other watercolor painting by the artist online. This scene reminds me of what one might see in a city like Oxford, England, with churches, university old buildings, and half timbered Elizabethan-style houses mixed in. The painting is in a circa 1920 frame. Condition is good, with some light soiling typical of its age. The frame has some missing chips at lower left.
