California art vintage signed large oil painting of mission courtyard
Oil on canvas, 27" by 34" (33" by 40" as framed), the subject an arcaded breezeway in a California mission such as San Juan Capistrano. The circa 1940's or 1950's (I would guess) painting is signed at lower left "V. Hodges". I don't see any evidence that this is a listed artist, so am offering this work on its decorative qualities. The painting has evidently spent a lot of time in smoky rooms, as it is very yellowed from nicotine. A good cleaning will remove the yellowish tinge and no doubt reveal a totall different painting. Other than the smoke, the work is in excellent shape. Frame is vintage, has a little wear but is quite presentable. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates. **Photos are temporary**.
