NIKOLAI TROSCHENKOV (1961-) Russian art 1989 original watercolor painting of the Museum of Wooden Architecture at Suzdal
Watercolor on paper, 12 1/2" by 9 1/2" inside the mat, 18 1/2" by 14 1/2" as framed, the subject the Museum of Wooden Architecture in Suzdal, Russia. Suzdal is in the province of Vladimir, approximately 150 miles northeast of Moscow. The work is signed at lower right by the talented contemporary Russian gallery artist NIKOLAI TROSCHENKOV (1961-) and dated there 1989, and at lower left, I'm told, is the name of the town (all this related to me by Russian speakers). On the reverse in longhand is further information---"Pokrovskaya Church" and "Preobrazhenskaya Church", and the word "museum". I googled the words and came to the website of the museum, complete with photos of the various buildings. This item is in very good condition. The original old mat is of thin paper and it's tired. I'd recommend replacing it with a real mat. The frame is simple but attractive and functional. Allow for reflections in some images. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates.
