Oil on canvas, 23" by 10" and frame 1 3/4" wide on a side, the subject a group of yellow flowers in a glass container, signed indecipherably at extreme lower right (see photo). The work appears to be of European origin, as the size in centimeters (25 cm, 58 cm.) is stamped into the wood of the stretchers. Also there is a stamp of the framer or gallery, one "Thomas Schiffer" and address (unreadable). So let's assume this is German, Austrian or Swiss in origin. Age is likely 1920's or 1930's I'd imagine. Condition: note paint loss scattered throughout, and a small puncture at upper left just above the yellow flower. The work would be an excellent project for a restorer, as the painting itself was competently executed and is most definitely worth saving. .
