English 18th or 19th century early detailed needlework map on silk of England and Scotland

This is a very interesting piece created by an early artist very skilled in needlework: an oval shaped map of England and Wales and small parts of Ireland, Scotland and France, the oval measuring approximately 19 1/2" by 17" (about 27" by 22 1/2" in the vintage gold frame). Judging from the seated figure of Britannia and the lettering and overall handling, I'd estimate this to date to the late 18th or early 19th century. Note the clipper ship near Britannia, as well as the early, quaint lettering. The various geographical features are shown in detail----counties, rivers, seas, channels, islands. Considering the age, the work is in quite passable condition. The colors are not terribly faded, nor is there water damage---but there are some tears in the delicate silk background, at top left and center, and near Britannia, and again at bottom left and center. The generally straight lines of the tears are mostly horizontal. There are some other horizontal creases that suggest they might have wanted to become tears but never did. These faults notwithstanding the map is most interesting and a fine piece for the Anglophile or needlework or map collector.
