TONIS IOANNOU (1939-) contemporary Greek art modern semi abstract painting

Oil on canvas, approximately 35" by 45" including the frame, signed in Greek at upper left "Ioannou", and bearing on the reverse of the canvas a violet colored official looking rubber stamp and a few hand written numbers. This is apparently a work of noted Greek artist TONIS IOANNOU (1939-). An internet search shows him as working on stage designs for a Thessaloniki (northern Greece) production. He is also widely collected for his paintings and other works of art. Despite the obvious talent, there appears to be no current auction market for his works. I am selling this as a most attractive modern work, which, with the white, browns, tans and blacks, should complement many interiors. The frame is also quite attractive with the art, though it isn't necessarily contemporary to the painting. The stretcher appears to be American, so, I believe the painting was likely originally brought to America unstretched. Condition is excellent. There is a little wear to the frame. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates. The painting is currently at the home of relatives in the New York City area. SEE HUNDREDS OF OTHER WORKS NOW IN MY SHOP.
