American folk art mid 19th century theorem style watercolor painting still life with compote

Watercolor on paper, 10 1/2" by 13 1/2" and 1" inch wide worn simple frame, the subject being a glass compote with various fruits including pears, a butterfly perched at upper right, all on toned old vintage paper, unsigned. This is a beautifully folky work, found in Connecticut. I'd estimate the age as circa 1840 or 1850. It shows the effects of its advanced age, with most notably a large waterstain at upper right, foxing, and some discoloration and old tears and stains around the compote stem. The flaws while undeniably present don't lessen the appeal of this mellow old work. It should be reframed as the present frame is undistinguished and worn. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates.
