Oil on canvas laid on board classic, likely northeastern American landscape, of a sunny yet shaded unpaved lane, bordered by traditional clapboard homes under tall trees like elms, signed at lower right "K. Shaw", measuring 10 1/4" by 12" (16 1/2" by 18 1/2" as framed). The painting is executed in the style of painters like Guy Wiggins, Anthony Thieme, Emile Gruppe and others who in the first part of the twentieth century painted impressionist works around Rockport and Gloucester (Cape Ann area) Massachusetts. I don't see a similarly glorious listing for this painter, but he or she was obviously talented. The artist understood the summery blond light of that school of painters. There is a little light soiling and a few possible tiny pinpoint losses, but basically you could place this on your wall and enjoy it as is. I would hardly be surprised to learn that "K. Shaw" was a pen name for a listed artist. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates. SEE HUNDREDS OF OTHER WORKS NOW IN MY SHOP.
