OREGON ART Rare extremely well executed circa 1860s to 1880's watercolor of Mt. Hood Oregon landscape with figures, houses and dogs in Victorian frame
If you collect early art of the Pacific Northwest, this vintage work might be of interest to you. Apparently unsigned, this multi-sided work measures 11" by 19" (14" by 22" as framed). It's executed on old paper, laid on gray board. The charming scene is packed with detail of horse-drawn carriages, dogs like setters or spaniels, trees, houses, and of course the famous snowy cone of Mt. Hood. There's a folk art element in this painting, springing from the details. I think you could look long and hard to find such a charming vintage scene from the Northwest. Condition reflects the age, with some damage at upper left in sky (see photos) and a small edge loss at right. Allow for reflections in glass. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates.
