Watercolor on paper, 13 1/2" by 20 7/8" (22 3/8" by 29 3/4" as framed), signed at lower right by noted American painter KATHRYN WOODMAN LEIGHTON (1875-1952). Woodman is today best known for her Joseph Sharp/Taos School or E.A. Burbank style portraits of indians, but she also painted landscapes and as we see here, still life. See askart for more information on the artist. This painting is in excellent condition, save for some rippling of paper especially at upper left, which the photos (angle of lighting?) seem to exaggerate, compared to when one views the painting in person. Allow for reflections in glass, which show as a lighter gray band at bottom of some photos. .
