A. G. FLEMING (British, 20th century) beautiful and accomplished impressionist painting of French harbor
Oil on canvasboard painting titled on reverse label "The Inner Harbour, Honfleur, France", measuring 29 3/4" by 23 3/4" (37" by 31 1/4" as framed), signed at lower right. There are some auction records for the artist but not much seems to be known on him. This is a good-sized and impressively rendered work, with the shimmering water handled masterfully in a rainbow of deftly applied color. The frame is uninspiring and has a bit of surface wear.
