A nice, Staffordshire pottery tea caddy (or tea poy) decorated with a bright yellow glaze. This piece was made by Carlton Ware of Stoke-on-Trent. It is a squared-off spherical form, with transfers of a bird and flowers on each of its four sides as well as on the lid. It is highlighted in gold.
This piece dates to the 1950s or 1960s, based on its style and form.
Size: 5" tall, 3.25" across.
Condition: light crazing to glaze, especially to bottom, otherwise fine. No wear or damage.
Mark: yellow script Carlton Ware printed mark on bottom.
