Johnson Bros. Roma Vegetable Bowl

Without a doubt, one of my favorite recent finds when it comes to modern dinnerware patterns, this is one of the few Op-Art patterns I've run across, manufactured in the late 1960s or first half of the 1970s.

To make it more interesting, it was produced by Johnson Brothers, a solid and respectable but generally uninspired and uninspiring mid-level Staffordshire pottery,

The pattern is on Johnson Bros's Snowhite black, a crisp, Modern set of forms in a pure white pottery body. This line is decorated with solid-color glazes and lithographic color transfers, which were a new process in the 1960s. The design of the Roma decoration is pure English modern, in a medium, almost pea green and medium blue, in a series of abstract circles and rectangles.

Size: the bowl is 8.75" in diameter and 2.675" tall.

Condiiton: as new, no wear or damage.

Mark: Johnson Brothers backstamp on bottom.
