A fine vintage glass vase by the Mdina glass studio of Malta. The glass works was founded by Michael Harris in 1968. Harris was forced to leave Malta in 1972, and the company has continued to run under the direction of Joseph Said.
This hand-blown vessel is a good example of the work done at Mdina: the interior is striped in yellow, the exterior is striped in blue, giving the piece and overall three appearance. The form is a great, squat Modern form with a narrow neck and deeply flared rim.
Size: 4.5" tall, 5.5" in diameter at the widest.
Condition: a little light wear to the bottom, otherwise fine.
Mark: engraved "Mdina" mark on bottom.
