The Gldden Pottery of Alfred, New York was one of the first Modernist potteries in the United States and a key influence in the studio pottery movement. Founded by Glidden Parker, it was in business from 1950 to 1957.
This is a nice, broad, squat pillow vase in their trademark Speckled Turquoise glaze.
Size: 9" wide by 6" deep by 5.5" tall.
Condition: soiled foot ring, no wear or damage.
Mark: usually Glidden pottery mark, but this piece isn't. Both the color of the clay and the color of the glaze make it clear this piece could only come from Glidden.
