Davart Lenox China Pink & Cream Urn Form Lamp

Davart was a high-end manufacturer of electric lamps in the 1930s and 1940s in New york City. They worked with pottery and porcelain parts supplied by a number of different manufacturers, but their closest ties were with the Lenox china Co of Trenton, NJ, whose lead designer created parts specifically for use in Davart lamps.

This is an example of those parts: a two-part porcelain urn consisting of a cream-colored foot and a pink body with small handles. The body of the urn is decorated with molded flower which on the primary side have been colored with cream-colored slip.

The Lenox parts are 11.25" tall. The lamp is 22" overall.

Condition: small (0.25" across) flake chip on one corner of the foot, which can only be seen under close inspection. Ball (either glass or ceramic) missing from the top of the finial. Otherwise fine.

Mark: Davart triangle logo mold mark on the underside of the foot. Lenox green wreath mark inside the porcelain foot of the urn, which can only be seen by unbolting the lamp.
