A fine tricolor Wedgewood Jasperware cameo set as a pendant. The body is solid Terracotta with a black dip overlay in the center and white sprigged decoration. The image in the center is of the front grill of a Rolls Royce motor car, complete with "Spirit of Ecstasy" hood ornament. It is set in a sterling silver frame. Our suspicion is that this piece was made for the car company, as Wedgwood was commissioned to make other items for Rolls Royce.
The cameo is 1.375" in diameter. The pendant is 2.375" long.
Mark: impressed Wedgwood mark on the back. Frame has English hallmarks along the interior, but they're too small for me to make them out well enough to detemine the exact date of manufacture. Broadly, I'm certain it dates to the 1970s or 1980s.
