We recently acquired a small collection of large-format, vintage movie posters dating from the late 1960s and early 70s. We're not sure what theater they originally came from, but I would suspect it was was one of the last, large movies palaces here in the Philadelphia area, as only an urban theater would have needed these huge posters for display.
These posters are 40" by 60" and printed on heavy card stock. This size is now known as a "Bus Shelter" and used in major cities in the pre-fab metal shelters found at bus stops, but decades ago, the size would have been used in frames at large first-run theaters.
This is an original theatrical poster for The Vampire Lovers, the 1970 Hammer horror film. It starred Peter Cushing, Ingrid Pitt, and George Cole and was the first film of the Karnstein Trilogy. It's got a great horror/exploitation graphic.
The poster is 40" by 60".
Condition: light wear to the sides, some soiling to lower part of back, which doesn't show through as the card stock is quite thick. Otherwise fine.
