A fine, large blown-glass vase with sand-carved decoration. This piece, with dogwood flowers and foliate designs was created by the Groszart Glass Co., which was founded by Franz Joseph Grosz. Grosz was born in 1909, studied at the Art Student League in New York and got his start as an artist working for the WPA during the 1930s.
This vase is 11.75" tall, 7.75" in diameter at the top and 4.5" at the bottom.
Condition: moderate foot ring wear. No other wear or damage.
Mark: signed "Franz Grosz" with a vibrating engraver along the bottom edge of the vase.
